Pretend you do not see the person


It is embarrassing for Norwegians if they recognize someone
and need to walk towards that person while sustaining eye contact in silence before being able to greet.
Showing emotion, such as jumping up and down, running to give an embrace and so on,
is not a common practice for Norwegians to engage in.
