If you cannot afford a bunad, you shall wear the nicest clothes you have.

You shall carry and decorate with Norwegian flags everywhere.

It is never too much.

You shall eat ice cream, march in parades or stand beside and shout "hurray" to strangers and hope that you see someone you know. 

Remember: It is permitted to great strangers on this day.
